On the Road - San Diego County Fair

Last weekend we had the opportunity to spend Sunday at the San Diego County Fair. Our friend from Boulder happened to be in the neighborhood for the weekend, so we managed to link up before heading up north to Del Mar.

The fair is funny to me (because it's mostly about eating deep-fried _______), but there is that American nostalgia that gets me every time. We tackled turkey legs, deep fried reese's cups (had to), hot dogs, and funnel cake (my favorite).

I wrangled Jason into a photo-booth, we played a few carnival games (Jason won me a little stuffed lemon!) and wandered through the various merch booths. We avoided the rides because they are terrifying and I don't trust temporary amusement rides, but I would love to ride the gondola next year!

After a few good hours in the sun, we had filled up on a year's worth deep-fried goodness and fair fun.
